4 Lesser-Known Facebook Marketing Strategies to Boost Your Success

Do you think you’ve got Facebook figured it out? You’ve created your fan page with a few tabs that you have created. You’ve created an ad campaign, (Click here) and each one of the products you sell on your website has”like” buttons “like” button on it (which boosts the revenue). Simple This Facebook process is simple! It is relatively easy to use; however, what else should you have to think about? What other ways could you use Facebook (and its 500 million members) to market your business?

The four strategies we’re speaking about today aren’t novel; however, they’re pretty novel to me. That got me thinking: If I didn’t know about these (or the reasons why they’re helpful as an inbound strategy), what other people aren’t aware of them. It’s not my intention to suggest that if I don’t know about it, nobody else knows, as there are already people making use of these tools. However, the problem would be… do you one of them? If not, would you like to be? Let’s get to it and examine the four Facebook marketing techniques you might not have heard of (but you’ll soon).

1. Facebook Insights on Your Website’s Performance

You read that right. You have seen the insights for your fan pages. However, do you realize that you can receive Facebook Insights for your site? This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the content users share on your site and demographic information about users, likes, etc. We just set this up and were amazed at how much information you could obtain. Here’s a short overview from Facebook:

Facebook Insights for Domains offers an integrated view of critical indicators for every website, including those not yet on the Facebook Platform. For instance, when a user clicks a link to your website in their Facebook status update, this information will be included in the analytics of your domain. You can view the sharing metrics and demographics for each domain and URL to help you optimize your content to share and create content tailored to the audience you want to reach.

It’s first and foremost simple to set up. Go to http://www.facebook.com/insights/ and click the green “Insights for your Website” button in the upper right-hand corner. You’ll see a pop-up box that looks like the one shown below. You then include the meta tag into the tag for your site.

You can add Facebook Insights to your site.

Once this is installed, When you next visit Facebook’s Insights page, you won’t only see your pages’ fan pages but also see your site pop on the page as an alternative. Here are a few examples of Facebook’s information about your website.

2. Facebook Comments

Let me be honest, and I was very doubtful about why anyone would ever want to make use of Facebook comments… that was until I saw it in live-action. Let me take you through the reaction I had the first time I made comments on TechCrunch, now using Facebook comments.

1. This is awesome; it seems like my comment will be posted to Facebook. What do you think this means?

2. Cool! My comment has now shown to my walls.

3. However, wait… What? It was also on My friend’s feed! Here’s what my boss Jamie noticed on his feed:

4. Within minutes, my husband and boss responded to my post on Facebook. Their responses appear on Facebook but are featured in the TechCrunch blog post. What… think of the possibilities!

What makes Facebook’s comments unique?

Many more people see your comments.

My husband and boss would never have read the simple post I posted on TechCrunch. However, since it was posted on Facebook, they saw it and responded in a flash. TechCrunch was able to get three comments that they could only have received in a different type of commenting system. Hello UGC!

It eliminates lots of spam!

Facebook completes the task of determining whether an actual person is commenting or not. The user must be logged into Facebook to post comments, and you won’t have anonymous users. This has some disadvantages since it’s not the case for everyone who has an account (the horrible! ). However, you can provide a variety of ways to post comments similar to what TechCrunch does.

Simple moderation of comments

Facebook allows moderation to be pretty straightforward. You can quickly edit, remove, and sign up yourself to specific feeds.

3. Local Business Listings

If you’re a small-scale business owner or a local company, You may have noticed these Facebook pages displaying for your business. These are pages created automatically by Facebook. Initially, I was pretty unhappy with these pages. However, I realized that you could use them. Let’s take a look at the example of an establishment in NYC.

Search “billy Marks West” and find one of these pages on the SERPs.

These pages can be ranked for your brand name and help you rank higher on search engines for your brand name. The exciting part is that Facebook allows any user (yes… everyone) to modify the pages.

It’s certainly a bit crazy that editing is accessible to anyone; however, if you keep it in mind and ensure you regularly check the site to ensure that the data doesn’t change in the wrong way.
